Week 22 - First win at Ditchling

(September 13, 2010)

Mick ROW game
Our overseas player led us to a victory as his season is nearly spent

The Sunday XI WON at Ditchling in a 40 over-a-side gameWC&T 187-8 (Foster 41, Armstrong 41, C.Reeves 32*), DITCH 119 a/o (Gee 3-23, Armstrong 2-22, B.Chambers 2-12).  Scorecard.  A fine performance in the field on a slow track in Mid Sussex.  Four and a half an over was certainly competitive from us as we batted first; with a powerful bowling attack, we knew we could put the hosts under pressure and so it proved.  Although Tom Chambers had a tough day in the field, it's another game under his belt as he continues to recover from a serious back injury and apparently, the Foz may have scored more had he not had a skinful the night before.  (Seems only Sleepy can get away with this).

Two games left on the last two Sundays of the month at Tillington and Warnham.  All Sunday games in September are away this year.  The Tilly game always finishes in the dark and then we roll down the hill into the Horseguards.  Warnham is where we go over the road to the social club to reflect on another hugely satisfying season.

Meanwhile the Under 14s have arranged a friendly next Sunday at Arundel.  As Matt Goring is their coach and wants to play, the game will officially be a 3rd XI fixture.  Catch news of this game and the Tilly game next week
