More runs for WC
Saturday 26th June: 1st XI WON easily at home to a depleted Southwick 2nd XI. SOUTH 140 a/o (Armstrong 3-19. Chaloner 3-45), WC&T 141-3 (Chambers 61*). Scorecard. At last it goes to plan. We put them in, we bowl 'em out and get the runs relatively comfortably thanks to another aggressive knock from opener Chambers. A big welcome to Conrad Mumday who took a wicket and impressed generally on debut according to the old lags (players) I met at the pavilion. The biggest chellenge chasing the runs was the keeper's hamstring which pinged again - Hardisty chose Rhino as a runner (or he volunteered the quickest) and as ever when you get a runner, it usually ends in a run out which it did very swiftly! The other challenge was Fitzgerald trying to score but thankfully it all ended relatively quickly so he didn't have to concentrate for too long. A more detailed account of cricketing events may appear here soon. We're up to 3rd and are pushing the top two at last.
